Location: Yerington - Position: Prep Cook/Line Cook

Salary: $9.00 - $12.50 DOE

Summary: The position is full-time (approximately 32 hours) varied shift. As a line cook you are responsible for preparing recipes and food items in accordance with our standards of excellence; Prep Cook: Responsible for preparing recipes and food items in accordance with the Kitchen Manager’s requirements and Pioneer Crossing Casino’s standards of excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned).

On a daily basis, ensures that assigned station is adequately stocked.  Stocks all missing food and supply items.
  • Prepares menu items, ensuring adherence to recipes, food quality, food temperature and visual descriptions.
  • Keeps station clean and organized.
  • Ensures compliance with Serve Safe requirements.
  • At the conclusion of assigned shift, re-stocks station to set next shift up for success.
  • Prepare salads, sandwiches, sauces, sautés, broiler, rotisserie, and grilled foods as needed, in compliance with food and health code safety laws.
  • Perform preliminary prep work in a timely manner.
  • Inventories menu item ingredients and other supplies in the corresponding kitchen facility to ensure that supply levels are always adequate.
  • Cleans and organizes storage and kitchen area as needed in accordance with governmental health and safety codes.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None.

Education/Experience:
Minimum 1 year experience cooking in professional kitchen.

Language Ability:
„« Must be able to communicate effectively in English language.
„« Must be able to read and comprehend English in order to read tickets and recipes.

Math Ability: 
„«High School level math. Adding, subtracting.

Reasoning Ability: 
„«Effectively and courteously interact, communicate and cooperate with coworkers in kitchen and dining
    room to ensure quality customer service and keep up kitchen standards.
„«Maintain clean appearance and practice good personal hygiene in accordance with the
    state /governmental health agency rules and requirements.

Computer Skills:  None.

Certificates and Licenses:  None.

Physical Requirements:
„«Must be able to work in extreme temperatures varying from +110F kitchens to --10F freezers,
    possibly for one hour or more.
„«Must be able to stand and exert well-paced motion with full range of mobility for up to 4   
    consecutive   hours.
„«Must have ability to bend, squat, climb, and walk, see clearly, and hear well.
„«Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. and push 250 lbs. carts, as well as frequently carry and
    lift food trays/items of up to 30lbs. throughout shift.
„«Must be able to operate within confined spaces and perform acts of repetitive motion.
